I was involved with dance and costumes from a very young age, I took dance lessons, entered competitions and took part in shows with a local dance school-right up to leaving for university.
Having decided that being backstage was much more my style, I studied BA(Hons) Costume Production at Rose Bruford College and gained my degree.
Upon leaving university I worked in TV and film before working for many years in London's West End in the wardrobe departments of shows such as Dirty Dancing and Thriller Live.
When the time came that I wanted to move back up to Derbyshire that sort of work was naturally much harder to find and I 'fell' into retail.
Fast forward a few (too many) years and I decided the time had come to shake off the doubts and dust off my sewing skills and Holly Allott Costumes was born in 2024.
I'm so glad I have taken the leap and I'm really happy to rediscover my love for all things costume and I look forward to the future being full of creativity, fun and lots of sparkles!
